LG Arena Ships in Europe

LG on Monday said it has launched the Arena in Europe. The company's new range-topping phone should be available today through carriers like Orange and T-Mobile in the continent's "major" markets and is still claimed as one of LG's most anticipated phones with more than 1 million pre-orders, though this includes carriers in Asia and other regions besides Europe. No mention has been made of how many Arenas are expected to sell through on launch day.

The phone is billed as LG's flagship and is one of the first phones to ship with LG's iPhone-like S-Class interface, which has multiple 3D home screens. It also has a 5-megapixel camera and an AMD graphics chip that help it not only take DVD-level video but play back DivX and XviD movies without a significant performance burden. It also brings Dolby Mobile sound and has both 8GB of internal storage as well as a microSDHC slot that handles up to 32GB more.

Versions of the Arena ship in black and silver colors. It's not known whether the Arena will ship to the US, though 850MHz support for basic GSM and EDGE means it can be used in the country. The phone currently lacks local 3G, however, and would likely need to be adapted for use on AT&T.
