Verizon handset dates
Added specifications and approximate release dates of three new handsets due to ship to Verizon have been leaked, PhoneArena reported on Thursday. The Nokia Intrigue 7205 will be an Energy Star compliant device that will urge users to unplug it from the wall socket once the phone is fully charged to avoid phantom power draw. It will also be packaged in a small, environmentally-friendly box and the menus and screensavers on the 2.2-inch, 240x320 internal display and external 176x32 PMOLED screen will also have a green theme.
Users will also have the option of quickly accessing the contacts from the main screen and viewing their last text conversations and calls. A favorites contact list can be created to avoid looking through the entire phonebook for a contact. It is expected to come to Verizon in both black and pink before March is over, though pricing is still unknown.
The Samsung U490 touchscreen slider will be called Trance on Verizon's network and replace the current Juke. The music-oriented phone will have 1GB of built-in memory, along with a microSDHC memory card slot for adding as much as 16GB. It is expected to arrive in the spring, with prices unknown.
The LG VX1100, is believed to be replacing the current Voyager, though in a different form factor that includes a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and multi-touch display. Other specs of this phone include a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus and a 16GB microSDHC card support. There is no indication of when the LG handset will launch, though sometime during the second half of the year is expected.
