SlingPlayer submitted
Sling Media has submitted its application for the iPhone and iPod touch, SlingPlayer Mobile, to the App Store for approval. The app will allow users to access their television content including local or cable channels, video on demand, pay per view and more. The company currently offers similar software for Symbian, BlackBerry, Palm and Windows Mobile platform. The service streams video over Wi-Fi when available, or "acceptably well" over 3G if Apple approves the technology.
In addition to the streaming capabilities, SlingPlayer can be used to control home digital video recorders (DVR) to schedule recordings or watch stored content, with full controls for pause, rewind and fast forward.
The mobile services require a Slingbox device attached to the home television system. A launch date for the SlingPlayer iPhone app remains unknown.

Yeah, I'm waiting for that response too:( If they do approve it, even if it's wifi only, I'd probably drop the cash on a slingbox.

Nah, it'll be more of a "We're sorry, this cuts into our ability to sell tv shows and movies. Denied!"
Oh, right, they'd never say that. Then it will be the "bandwidth" excuse. Or perhaps just "denied" with no excuse, like a couple of the XM radio apps got (later turning out that, apparently, even if it takes longer, XM putting their own out means no one else can or something).
