Wistron Firstbook offers Snapdragon-based 3G netbook

Wistron Firstbook netbook
Taiwan's Wistron has shown off its Firstbook, an ultraportable netbook about the size of Sony's VAIO P, powered by the same 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset used in the Toshiba TG01 smartphone. The Linux-based PC is the first such netbook with an integrated 3G mobile broadband module. Snapdragon is a chipset made for upcoming mobile devices, incorporating a 1GHz processor core, DSP and 3G radio.
While other specifications are unknown, the Firstbook is expected to sport an 11.1-inch widescreen display, and it is believed there are both integrated Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections.
There is no word whether the Firstbook is meant for a production release later this year or simply a technological demonstration platform for the Snapdragon chip. It shared booth space at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona with the TG-01, however, which is expected to launch in Europe this summer, hinting at a possible release in the near future.
