Dell Latitude 2100 Leak

A leak on Friday hints that Dell is producing netbooks under the Latitude name. Gizmodo understands that the systems will be known as the Latitude 2100 series and will have the same style as full-sized Latitudes. Like the HP Mini-Note, though, its focus would be on the educational market and would involve bright color schemes like "Red Apple" and "School Bus Orange." It may also add a touchscreen that hasn't been present on any previous Dell netbook.

While the design would be unique, its specs would largely be similar to a higher-end Inspiron Mini 10 with a 10-inch display, 1.6GHz Atom, 1GB of RAM, 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Upgrade choices would be broader, however, and would allow a choice of either a rotating hard drive or an SSD for storage in addition to as much as 2GB of memory and a 6-cell battery pack.

If authentic, the 2100 would be ready as early as May and kept "under $600."
