LG Lotus in textured red

Sprint announced on Monday that its version of the LG Lotus handset will soon be offered in a textured red finish at the carrier. The flip-phone sports a full QWERTY keyboard in an unusual, wide design has a and single-click interface that provides users with a shortcut to often accessed features such as texting, e-mail, navigation, and Sprint's TV and music store services.

The phone's other features include stereo Bluetooth, a 2-megapixel camera with video capture capabilities and a Wireless Backup feature backing up the contact list. It also sports external music controls and a microSD memory card slot that lets users add 12GB of storage space. Music playback can be retained in the background while users are text messaging, playing games or surfing the Internet.

No official price has been announced for the red Lotus, but it will be available on April 19th and is expected to cost the same $100 as the currently available black and purple Lotus handsets after instant savings, a mail-in rebate and signing a two-year contract.
