Sprint Instinct S30 coming
The Instinct Mini will be known as the Instinct S30 when it arrives as a Sprint device in North America, Samsung announced in Korea on Tuesday. The Instinct successor sports the same-sized 3.2-inch touchscreen as the original and, as expected, will make its official debut at the CTIA wireless show which kicks off in Las Vegas on Wednesday. No other official hardware specs are known about the phone, though it does look rounder than the model it is expected to eventually replace.
From an earlier leak, it is believed the handset will have an upgraded 5-megapixel autofocus camera compared to the current model's 2-megapixel shooter, and a new accelerometer that recognizes tilt. The display's resolution will be bumped to 240x480 pixels versus the current 240x432, and to help offset these upgrades, EVDO Rev. A will be used for 3G data access.
No information in terms of a price or exact release date have been released.
