Mackie HD speakers
Mackie has introduced two new high-definition loudspeakers, the 1800W HD1531, and 1600W HD1521. Both speakers incorporate the company’s acoustic correction processing that delivers transducer time alignment and phase correction, and features a 15-inch neodymium woofer with 3-inch voice coil, and a 1.75-inch titanium compression driver with heat-treated titanium diaphragm. Also integrated is Mackie’s fast-recovery circuitry, which helps the amp recover from the occasional aggressive transient, to provide clean audio under most situations.
The HD1521 offers a 700W RMS low-frequency amplification, and 100W RMS high-frequency amplification. It’s made from birch plywood and weighs roughly 80 pounds. With the HD1531 users receive a tri amplified system that offers an extra 6-inch high-output mid-range transducer; it weighs approximately 96 pounds. Both speakers also come with 12 integrated fly points for hanging the speaker either horizontally or vertically, as well as the ability to be mounted on a pole or stand.
They are available for purchase -- priced at $1200 for the HD1531, and 1000 for the HD1521.
