HP MediaSmart servers

HP is on the verge of updating the look and capacities of its MediaSmart series of home servers, and photos of the LX190 model have leaked online to confirm the move. While hard specs are still not available, the photos reveal the new model has four USB ports and a 1-gigabit Ethernet port on its rear panel, while the front has three indicator lights and what is most likely to be a recessed Server Recovery button.

The photos indicate the new model does not have a way to add additional internal storage drives to it, and earlier reports had a different model from the series, the LX195, sport a capacity of 640GB. HP's current MediaSmart servers, the EX485 and EX487, offer 750GB and 1.5TB capacities and are priced at $600 and $750, respectively. Unlike the LX190/195, however, they have three additional drive bays that can be filled with hard drives.

No other information, includings release dates or pricing, is known at this time. [via Gizmologia]
