Nokia 5530 September Leak

If accurate, a source has Nokia launching its first touchscreen phone below the 5800 XpressMusic. The 5530 as described by DailyMobile would still have the full Symbian S60 operating system but a smaller 2.9-inch display. A 3.2-megapixel camera, FM radio and Wi-Fi are also purportedly queued up, though there is no mention of whether 3G or GPS would also transfer to the new device.

The phone would potentially ship in time for this year's Nokia World, which has officially been moved up to September 2nd and may serve as an ideal launch venue for a phone available by the end of the year.

Nokia is counting on the variety of touchscreen phones it will make as a means of recovering its falling market share in smartphones, which has been hurt by the company's late entrance into touch. The 5800 is the only touchscreen phone on the market and won't be joined by the high-end N97 until about July.
