Samsung S8000 Cubic Specs
Samsung's previously leaked S8000 is now known through a Russian store slip (since pulled) to be the first in a series of phones that center on a new interface. Nicknamed the Cubic, the phone will have an updated version of Samsung's TouchWiz interface that adds a 3D "cube" of information that puts different information on different surfaces, such as calling information and widgets. While no shots are available, it should likely resemble LG's S-Class 3D interface.
Its display will also be a cornerstone of its design with a 3.1-inch, 800x480 active matrix OLED display that should be one of the sharpest screens of its type while preserving the very high color accuracy and brightness inherent to an AMOLED format.
A 5-megapixel camera, 3G, GPS and Wi-Fi should also come with the phone; storage would be limited to just 2GB internally, but it's unclear whether a microSD slot will be available to extend that storage.
When the S8000 will ship isn't clear, though it's reportedly due soon and would be part of a trilogy of Cubic phones: the S8000 may be the entry model using Samsung's proprietary operating system, while two others will use smartphone-class operating systems. [via Unwired View]
