Evoke QA4 now at Alltel

Alltel Wireless on Thursday announced it is now offering the new Motorola Evoke QA4 touchscreen handset that was released and tested at the recent CTIA Wireless show. The slider handset has a 2.8-inch capacitive touch display that hides a 12-button keypad and is a first for Motorola. The phone also has a 2-megapixel camera and a GPS receiver that can be used with the Alltel Navigation service. The provider's TV on Demand service can also be accessed from the Evoke QA4.

Included software is made up of a full HTML browser, an RSS feed client, and shortcuts to MySpace and YouTube social networking sites. A tilt sensor automatically brings up a virtual QWERTY keyboard when the handset is tilted on its side. For storage, a microSDHC card slot lets users add as much as 8GB of memory. Stereo Bluetooth support allows for the use or wireless headsets.

With a new two-year contract and after a $250 instant online discount as well as a $100 mail-in rebate, the Evoke QA4 is priced at nearly $100 at Alltel.
