Voyager Pro headset

Plantronics has launched the Voyager Pro, its newest noise-cancellation Bluetooth headset. The device was first shown through a teaser web page from the company, where they displayed close-cropped high-resolution photos, but failed to provide information about the headset. Voyager Pro features two 3mm noise–cancelling microphones, acoustic echo cancellation technology, and comes with Sidetone detection for noise conditions to help users hear more of the voices and less background noise. The headset provides up to 6 hours of talk time or a maximum of 120 hours standby time.

Voyager Pro supports initial pairing with Bluetooth phones and an active connection with up to two Bluetooth devices. The 3.5v Li-ion polymer battery is rechargeable with a microUSB connector and takes roughly 1.5 hours to charge. Additional noise cancelling support helps prevent problems hearing when the caller on the other end is suffering from their own background noise.

Plantronics has also launched a video demo on their website that shows the durability tests that were done on the device, and the voice quality it can provide under heavy winds. Some of the tests done on the headset include pounding the switches 200,000 times, having the ear tips withstand 8lbs of pull force, and testing the adjustable boom 20,000 times to help ensure full range of motion.

The new Voyager Pro is available for purchase from Plantronics and priced at $100.

Looks pretty cool. The bulk on the 510 doesn't matter, as it's behind the ear. The battery life is worth the bulk.
