iBuyPower LAN Warrior

iBuyPower this afternoon publicized a relatively unique small form factor game PC designed to be easily transportable to a LAN gaming party but without sacrificing its speed. The LAN Warrior is only slightly larger than some SFF boxes with its NZXT case but has room to accommodate Core i7 processors up to the 3.2GHz Core i7 Extreme courtesy of dual side fans and liquid cooling. It can also address as much as 12GB of DDR3 memory and two GeForce GTX 295 or Radeon HD 4870 X2 cards.

A rare twist sees all systems come with a harness and carrying system that lets them haul the computer more easily than regular towers.

The official base system starts at $999 with a 2.66GHz Core i7, 3GB of memory, a 500GB hard disk, a DVD burner and a GeForce 9500 GT suited to low-demand 3D. Besides key performance choices, the LAN Warrior scales up to a 1000W power supply, as many as 4 hard drives, Blu-ray and specialized add-in cards like a Sound Blaster X-Fi for audio or a Killer K1 for networking. Systems bought through iBuyPower today should ship in less than two weeks.
