Palm Eos Sprint Rumor
Although initially figured as a GSM-first device, the Palm Eos is now said on its way to CDMA carriers and may show within just a few months of the Pre's debut. PhoneNews refers to supposed Sprint insiders who say the Centro sequel is coming to that carrier this summer. Its only differences would be those in networking, with CDMA replacing GSM and EVDO Revision A replacing HSPA for 3G data access.
It's not certain whether any carriers besides AT&T and Sprint would get the Eos, though the expansion suggests a many-carrier strategy that would add Verizon and possibly other carriers.
Aside from its fixed-in-place keyboard, the Eos is believed to be a somewhat feature-reduced version of the Pre with halved storage (4GB), a smaller 2.6-inch screen and no Wi-Fi. At the same time, it would also be thinner than the Pre and, at a likely $99 price, less expensive than the iPhone or most other close competitors.
