BBerry Curve 8520 Leak

RIM's Gemini smartphone has evolved from a minor variant on the Curve 8900 into a significant evolution of the BlackBerry line as a whole, a photo shows. Now called the BlackBerry Curve 8520, the phone is shown by CrackBerry to have entirely dropped the BlackBerry's distinctive trackball in favor of an optical trackpad that requires only touch to use. It also gets a rubberized grip on the edges, including the buttons, and has dedicated media controls at the top.

The 8520/Gemini is thought to be a step sideways from the 2-megapixel, EDGE and Wi-Fi-only 8900 with the possibility of a lower-resolution (320x240) screen but advances like 802.11n Wi-Fi. These new shots, however, point to it possibly keeping the 480x360 display. When the 8520 will be formally unveiled isn't known, but the slip is appearing just days before RIM's Wireless Enterprise Symposium, where the company has announced new BlackBerries in past years.

'Gemini' Discovered : BlackBerry Curve 8520
BlackBerry with the codename Gemini have been organization around the interwebs since early on 2009, evolving slightly with each new blog post made about it. After a number of back and forth on gadget model, the prevailing thought on what has been now named the BlackBerry 8520 is that would it would be a new “low end” EDGE-only addition to the popular Curve line.
