ATT Acer 10in 3G Netbooks

AT&T is about to expand its netbook tie-ins to include the 10-inch Acer Aspire One, according to a leaked memo. A source passing on the note to BGR says that at least Costco will be selling a version of the portable with 3G ready to be used with AT&T's network. Other details are unclear, but the systems are likely to have some of their cost subsidized and also to sell at AT&T stores.

The memo anticipates a short turnaround and has Costco staff completing training on selling the Acer systems by May 8th, with an expectation of actual sales starting on May 11th. The actual cost of the system isn't known but should sit at $100 or less and thus keep in step with the Radio Shack promo started late last year; the Aspire One without 3G normally sells for $350.

Verizon is known to be jumping into the field with a discounted HP Mini of its own in the near future, but its own costs and ship dates are still unknown.
