ASUS aluminum 1002HAE

PC maker ASUS has recently announced the upcoming release of its latest Eee PC netbook, the 1002HAE. The Taiwanese company's 10.1-inch, 1024x600 resolution netbook sports an aluminum body, like the exotic Eee PC 1008HA Seashell, and weighs 2.6lbs. Otherwise, the 1002HAE's specs are nearly identical to the rest of the newer Eee PC range, and include a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 CPU, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive containing Windows XP Home Edition. Users also get 10GB of online storage from ASUS.

Connections include three USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet jack, a mini VGA jack and an SDHC, Memory Stick PRO and MMC memory card slot. There is a 1.3-megapixel webcam that, together with a microphone and speakers, allows users to conduct video chats. Topping off the features are Wi-Fi draft N support and Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR. The standard battery provides 3.8 hours of run time.

The Eee PC 1002HAE will be available in metallic gray, dark blue and red colors and is due for release on May 16th for the equivalent of about $500. [via Impress]
