OWC releases Express USB 2.0 hard drive enclosure

updated 12:50 pm EDT, Thu May 14, 2009

Samsung Jack

Other World Computing on Thursday released the Express USB 2.0, a compact enclosure for 2.5-inch SATA I/II hard drives with heights up to 9.5mm. The device is bus powered, eliminating the need for an AC adapter. Both Windows and Mac systems are supported and the package includes a USB connecting cable and carrying sleeve.

Installation requires the user to unscrew two Phillips screws and separate the case halves. The hard drive is connected directly to the Express bridgeboard and the case halves are reassembled.

The OWC Express is available now in black, silver and white colors for $20, including a one-year warranty.
