Meizu M8 Upgrade Coming
Meizu's planned sequel to the M8, its at times controversial shadow to the iPhone, is now said by company chief J. Wong to be a significant but more evolutionary upgrade. In place of a complete overhaul, the Chinese executive says the phone will support both China-native 3G through the TD-SCDMA standard as well as GPS. A camera upgrade is also due with a 5-megapixel sensor and an LED flash.
Wong adds that a phone with WCDMA, which would support 3G on China Unicom as well as in numerous other countries, is due sometime later. When the M8 upgrade itself would be released isn't apparent.
The current phone has been available since winter in China and, though meant as an imitator, is considered advanced. It uses a heavily customized Windows CE/Mobile platform and comes with a 3.2-megapixel camera, 8GB or 16GB of memory and an accurate web browser. [via Meizu Me]

1) a flat-bottomed sailing vessel typical in China and the East Indies, with a prominent stem, a high stern, and lugsails.
2) products created in China that are imitations of other popular brands but made of poor materials & quality to insure cheap prices.
