Acer Aspire One 751h in US

Acer today expanded the Aspire One line in the US to include its two newest netbooks. The 751h, previewed last month, is Acer's largest-ever netbook with a 11.6-inch, 1364x768 display and a full-size keyboard. It uses Intel's newer 1.22GHz Atom Z520 to emphasize power efficiency: its 6-cell battery pack is estimated to last for 8 hours.

A multi-touch trackpad is also a staple and allows scrolling as well as page swipes and pinching to zoom. The 751h otherwise has stock netbook features with 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, GMA 950 video and a lid-mounted webcam. Choosing the Z520 helps Acer keep the price low, with the system shipping today in blue for $380.

The D250 for the US is similar to the European model and has a more common 10-inch (1024x600) display and 1.6GHz Atom N270. Doing this shrinks battery life to 3.25 hours on a 3-cell pack and 6 hours for the optional 6-cell battery. While it has specifications identical to the 751h outside of these, the differences are enough to drop the red-colored system's price to $298 even on its launch today.
