Nokia OS image leaked

The first image of the user interface of the operating system Nokia is developing for mobile devices has been leaked recently. The operating system, dubbed Maemo Harmattan, is due to come to a new generation of gadgets by the end of 2010, and is expected to be a refined version of software used for the company's existing Internet tablets. Evidently designed for widescreens, the home screen pictured here scrolls vertically, showing a number of user-selectable widgets.

Only about a third of the long screen is visible on the device's screen at a time. Rumored ads that would give users some sort of discount are missing from the image, however. If they do make it into the final production version of the software, they will be wedged in-between the current widgets such as Calendar and Latest Activity.

Nokia representatives have not officially confirmed that this image represents the software the company is developing. [via MobileCrunch]
