OCZ adds 220MB/sec Summit solid-state drives

OCZ Summit Series SSDs
OCZ late yesterday added to its solid-state drive line with the Summit series. The new 2.5-inch SATA II design is considered a balance between speed and durability. Better-than-usual flash memory chips contribute to a mean time between failures of 1.5 million hours; a fast controller and 128MB of cache bring peak read speeds up to 220MB per second and sustained write speeds up to 200MB per second depending on the capacity.
All of the drives are housed in aluminum and use no more than 2W of power in active use. Storage comes in the 60GB, 120GB and 250GB levels familiar to most OCZ drives. The SSDs should be available today but haven't been given specific pricing.

When...
I can just clone my HD onto one and pop it into my Mac, I'll buy one, but right now it is nowhere near so simple. All the stuffing around aligning, firmware updating, and on and on... It's just not worth it.
