Rogers Android Price Leak

Rogers' first Android phones won't have a cost advantage over iPhones after all if an updated tip proves true. The same BGR source that reported the HTC Dream and Magic would cost $150 on contract now says that price has been boosted to $200 on a typical three-year plan. Contract-free prices have also purportedly been boosted from $550 to $650.

Why the late increase hasn't been mentioned, though the prices convert to about $178, or roughly in line with a T-Mobile contract (albeit on a shorter term). Both of the Google-based phones should be relatively iPhone class with 3.2-megapixel cameras, 3G data, GPS and Wi-Fi along with touchscreens.
