iRiver dates P35 in the US
iRiver has recently put up a teaser ad on its US website with specs and an approximate release date for its P35 portable audio player, which was first shown to the US audience at CES. The ad reveals nothing but an approximate release date, but is known to be available in three versions in Korea. The basic version acts as a touchscreen digital multimedia player, the Wi-Fi version adds portable and wireless Internet connection, while a DMB tuner-equipped version will let users watch digital TV. This last version is not expected to make its way to the US given the absence of DMB networks.
Otherwise, the P35 is available in 8GB or 16GB capacities, with either sporting a microSDHC memory card slot that can add as much as 16GB of space. The user interface is via a 4.3-inch 480x272 resolution touchscreen and iRiver's own SPINN analog wheel. An accelerometer is built-in, as is an FM radio tuner, voice recorder, Flash game support and Office document viewer. Supported audio file formats include MP2, WMA, WAV, OGG, APE and FLAC, while MPEG4, XviD, WMV7/8 and WMV9 videos are playable up to 720x480. The battery provides 16 hours of life for audio, or 8 hours for video.
The P35 is expected to come stateside sometime this fall, though prices have not yet been announced. [via dapreview]
