Numark Scratch Deck

Best known for real-world DJ tools, Numark today detailed the game controller it's making for Scratch: The Ultimate DJ. Nicknamed the Scratch Deck, the peripheral has a touch-sensitive turntable for its core mix-and-scratch gameplay as well as five drum pads that mimic Akai Pro MPCs and, like the real equipment, are used to trigger samples. The game comes with 60 "battle records" for samples but can take any sample recorded through a USB microphone.

The Scratch Deck can be used either right- or left-handed by inverting the device and works the same way for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. Numark ships the Scratch Deck as part of Scratch DJ in the fall and hasn't priced the controller either by itself or as part of a game bundle.
