New Canon DSLRs due in 09
Canon is rumored by a magazine to be getting set to release two new high-end professional DSLR cameras before the end of 2009. While there are little to no specifications available on either, one is expected to have the same 24x36mm sensor as the 1D Mark III while being even faster in terms of continuous shooting and may simply be called 1D Mark IV. It's reportedly due out in August.
A second model is expected to be a successor to the EOS-1Ds Mark III, with improvements coming in the form of a higher megapixel count and other changes to appeal to in-studio medium format camera users. No estimated ship date has been guessed at.
At the same time, another G-series advanced point and shoot camera is rumored to be coming before year's end, albeit with a sensor around the 9-megapixel mark and less noise than the current G10 shooter's ultra dense 14.7-megapixel sensor. [via PhotographyBay]
