Sony Ericsson X2 spotted?

A leaked photo reveals a new handset that is said to be the eventual successor to the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 smartphone. The spied device apparently goes by the codename Vulcan, though little other information is known about it. While the low-resolution image does not reveal much, similarities between the new device and the old one are clearly visible.

The device is known to use Windows Mobile courtesy of both a Windows key and the X Panel button. Sony Ericsson chief Hideki Komiyama recently said that the X1 is partially to blame for the company's significant decline in market share, so the company is likely to put in a stronger effort into its future Windows Mobile devices.

Pricing for the supposed X1 successor, just like the release date, can only be guessed at. [via Engadget]
