LG ships LH50, PS80 TVs

Electronics multinational LG is beginning to ship two new lines of TVs, originally announced during CES. The LH50 series is based on LCD technology, and currently includes only a 47-inch model; a 42-inch set is due later this summer. The predominant LH50 feature is said to be integrated Netflix streaming, allowing subscribers of the rental service to stream movies without a separate set-top box. Sets should also be capable of 1080p resolution.

Matching new LCD options are the PS80 plasma displays, beginning with a 50-inch TV to be followed by a 60-inch screen in the summer. Like the LH50s, all PS80s should support 1080p video and be ready for Netflix streaming. LG has yet to publish pricing for any of the new models, even though they may already be on sale.
