Palm Pre in Europe by fall
The Palm Pre handset will be coming to some European markets by the end of September, says the official distributor of Apple products in Romania, Apcom/IRIS. Zsolt Kadar, the marketing director of Apcom/IRIS, said the late September European availability depends on how well the Pre sells in the US. Palm products are distributed in Romania by Omnisoft, which has not released any statements.
The Pre, which launched in the US on June 6th at Sprint, has been selling out at record rates and there are rumors Palm has doubled shipments in order to keep up with demand. The Palm Pre may be sold through wireless provider in Romania, and O2 has been linked as a retailer of the handset in the UK. Telefonica has also been reported to carry the handset in other European markets.
Pricing in Europe for the Pre, while also unconfirmed, is expected to be on par with the device's subsidized $200 US price tag. [via Softpedia]

Double FAIL.
FAIL 1:
Pre doesn't use GSM, the international standard. Any chance they'll make a new GSM device, get approval, and produce the product in a few months?
FAIL 2:
Selling out of their limited 4 phone stock doesn't mean "selling out at record rates".
