3D-ready LG LH50 LCD

Having only recently introduced a regular version of the LCD to North America, LG is now shipping a 3D edition of the 47LH50 in South Korea. The 47-inch TV requires special glasses, but handles processing on its own when displaying supported 3D content. The set is also classified under the XCanvas brand in Korea.

It is unknown if LG has plans to offer 3D for other sizes in the LH50 line, or bring the modified sets over to other continents. It may be unlikely to carry the variants in North America however, as 3D technology has not caught on locally. Philips was recently forced to abandon its WOWvx products, even though it had developed a method of simulating 3D without glasses. The need for glasses is seen as major barrier to adoption.
