Active Media Predator GT

Active Media has recently released two new 2.5-inch solid state drives as part of its Predator GT SATA-II line, with record 220MBps sequential read speeds and 0.1ms access times. Just two capacities are offered, 64GB and 128GB, with each housed in a brushed aluminum housing and with a 3.5-inch drive bay mounting bracket.

The Predator GT range has 128MB of SDRAM cache and a new 8-channel controller. Competitor Super Talent has recently released its MasterDrive SX SSD drives that have similar specs but a 200MBps sequential read-rate speed. The 64GB Predator GT gets the same 120MBps sequential write speed as the MasterDrive SX drives, but the 128GB MasterDrive SX has a 200MBps speed rating.

The 64GB Predator GT is priced at $200, while the 128GB version costs $370 and both are already available. [via SlashGear]
