Rhapsody comes to VIZIOs

VIZIO on Tuesday announced its VIA-badged TVs with access to Internet Apps will now have access to Real's Rhapsody music service. With the user interface, users can browse the near 8-million song library using VIZIO's Bluetooth universal remote control, which has a built-in QWERTY keyboard, while watching TV. Songs can be searched by title, artist or album and on-demand access to new releases and top albums is available.

Via the TV, users can view cover art of new releases in sidebar and full screen modes, access their playlists on other Rhapsody-supporting devices such as PCs or portable music players and create new playlists or add content to current ones. Access is also there for Rhapsody's pre-made music channels, such as celebrity picks and genre mixes.

Any of the TVs connect through either the built-in 802.11n dual-band Wi-Fi or else an Ethernet port.

VIZIO VIA HDTVs can also access web-based services such as Flickr, Netflix, Vudu and Twitter, among many others. When the VIA-badged HDTVs are released in the US this fall, they will be the first anywhere to include Rhapsody access.
