Mio Amber smartphone due
Taiwan-based PDA, smartphone and navigation device maker Mio Technology is due to soon release a Windows Mobile 6.5-powered handset, the Mio Amber, according to some leaked specs and images. The device, codenamed Mio Amber, will reportedly sport a 3.6-inch, 800x480-pixel touchscreen display and a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus. Another VGA camera will face the user and allow for video calls.
As with other Mio devices, a built-in GPS sensor is present and may allow for assisted GPS functionality using data. There is also a motion sensor, Bluetooth, noise cancellation and a built-in FM transmitter. The Mio Amber will be able to connect to GPRS/EDGE and WCDMA/HSPA data networks. There is 512MB of onboard storage, expandable by a microSD memory card. A 528MHz Qualcomm CPU handles processing.
It’s not known which markets Mio will release the handset in, nor when, or for how much. [via UnwiredView]
