ViewSonic ships VPC100 PC


ViewSonic announced on Thursday it is now shipping its first PC, the VPC100, which was first announced at the start of the year. The PC sports an 18.5-inch LCD with a 1366x768 resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The processing components are fitted into the same, 1.4-inch thick case, including the 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM and 160GB hard drive, which comes preloaded with Windows XP Home.

There is also a built-in DVD drive, a 4-in-1 card reader, four USB 2.0 ports and an integrated Wi-Fi connection in addition to wired gigabit Ethernet. Users also get a 1.3-megapixel camera and a pair of 2.5W speakers. A full-size keyboard and optical mouse are included.

The VPC100 All-in-One PC is available now, priced at $599.

    This is like an oversized netbook. It looks nice, but for the money you can get a lot more power from Dell or HP.
