Canon to intro T1 soon
A Wednesday report has Canon announcing a new product on Tuesday, June 30th, and the source believes this will involve the release of the T1 digital SLR camera, which also goes by the name of EOS-2000D. Just as the T1i replaces the XSi entry-to-mid-range model, the new shooter is expected by an anonymous tipster of Canon Rumors to replace the existing Rebel XS at the very start of Canon's DSLR lineup.
Other than the name change, the new camera is also logically rumored to bring specification changes, though they haven't yet been announced. The current model has a 10-megapixel sensor, seven-point autofocus and a live preview mode; these should all carry over or improve in any future XS replacement. An HD movie shooting mode is a possibility but may be downgraded versus that in the T1i.
