MvixUSA intros Ultio

MvixUSA on Thursday announced the upcoming release and specs of its 1080p-capable Ultio networked multimedia player. The device is compatible with UPnP-standard networks and can be ordered with a 1TB hard drive. Streaming content from Netflix, Hulu, YouTube and other similar sites is supported, and MvixUSA says the device supports a record amount of video file formats and codecs, including the relatively uncommon RMVB or FLAC.

A BitTorrent client is integrated allowing for standalone downloads and there is basic NAS functionality for sharing media. A USB slave port allows for straight transfers from a connected PC, while two USB 2.0 ports allow users to connect external flash drives. There is an Ethernet port, while Draft N Wi-Fi is optional via an add-on dongle.

Connections include a single HDMI 1.3 output, component and composite video as well as optical and stereo audio outs.

The Ultio will launch at the start of July, priced at $169 as a standalone or $259 with a pre-installed 1TB hard drive. Drives up to 1.5TB are supported. [via SlashGear]

    nice!

I love really most the UPnP and SAMBA client because it allows me access my data and files to my PC. The speed shifting of menu and the convenient of not directly pointing the remote to the Ultio gives me real pleasure. With numerous codec it supports, I can stream all my favourite movies, even RM/RMVB, ISO and MKV formats. A must have device!
