Alienware OptX AW2210

Alienware today quietly introduced its own desktop display built both for gaming and movie viewing. The OptX AW2210 is intended as a multi-role display with a 21.5-inch, 1080p LCD that has not only DVI for computers but, in a rarity for the class, dual HDMI ports. Viewers can hook up a pair of HD sources like a Blu-ray player or game console and maintain their native aspect ratios without losing access to the computer.

Emphasizing the gaming aspect, the company has consciously chosen a TN panel that reduces the color gamut to 85 percent (of an unspecified color space) but gives it a quicker 2ms pixel response time. It also partially offsets concerns of image quality with an 80,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a matte-finish display. Alienware has immediate stock of the AW2210 and prices it at $290.

    WOW

Something from AlienWare that's not appallingly, hideously ugly!
