T-Mobile prices Dash 3G

T-Mobile's Dash 3G smartphone, announced for the carrier in mid-June, has been given a launch date and price just a week ahead of when it reaches stores. The complete overhaul of the Windows Mobile phone should arrive on July 8th, priced at $170 with a two-year contract. The original Dash is currently being discounted and trades for just $50 on similar terms.

Other than the 3G network support, the new handset gets a GPS receiver, Wi-Fi and an improved 2-megapixel camera compared to the Dash's 1.3-megapixel shooter. The Dash 3G otherwise revolves around a BlackBerry-like trackball for menu navigation and T-Mobile's MyFaves feature that allows for unlimited calling to five US contacts.
