Packard Bell imedia update

Packard Bell has recently updated its imedia series of desktops with a 60 percent smaller footprint and a matte chassis and soft curves along with a glowing blue power button. Buyers can pick from a range of processors, including Intel Core 2 Quad or AMD Phenom II X4 quad-core chips, and option up to 8GB of RAM. Storage space can be as large as 1TB, and there is an optional Blu-ray drive.

For graphics processing, Packard Bell offers an NVIDIA GeForce card, but otherwise, there is a standard integrated Intel graphics processor. Wi-Fi is another option, as is a DVB-T TV tuner. A Firewire port can be added to certain systems, as could an HDMI output and a multi-card reader.

Standard fare across the range includes six USB 2.0 ports and an eSATA connector.

The imedia systems ship with a multimedia keyboard and come preloaded with Windows Vista Home Premium with prices that start at the equivalent of $489. [via Pocket-Lint]
