GB outs 12.1-inch X1200

Chinese PC maker GB has seemingly ignored Intel and Microsoft's restrictions of hardware manufacturers pairing devices with screens larger than 10.2 inches with its Intel Atom CPU with the release of its 12.1-inch X1200 mini PC. Processing power comes from a 1.6GHz Atom N270 CPU and there is 1GB of RAM along with a 160GB hard drive. The preloaded operating system is not specified, but likely to be Microsoft's Windows XP.

Resolution is set at 1366x768 and the GB netbook is less than one inch thick with a weight that's just short of 3lbs. Other features include a 1.3-megapixel webcam and pair of USB 2.0 ports, along with a Wi-Fi connection and Bluetooth. The battery is said to last only 2.5 hours.

The X1200's wholesale price is set at the equivalent of about $322, which would no doubt jump once the PC is confirmed for retail sale. [via SlashGear]
