myTouch 3G pre-orders up
The myTouch 3G handset introduced by T-Mobile late last month is now available for pre-order at the wireless provider by current T-Mobile subscribers. At the same time, some online product brochures on the handset reveal it will have visual voicemail, becoming the first Android-powered handset to sport the feature. The handset is priced at $200 on a two-year contract for current subscribers who are eligible for an upgrade.
At the same time, astute T-Mobile site browsers found indications that the handset will offer visual voicemail with the help of T-Mobile, a feature iPhone users have already enjoyed for some time. Access to the service will require users to have a data plan and download an AppPack from the Android Market. T-Mobile's myTouch Unlimited Web, which includes visual voicemail, costs $25 per month. The myTouch 3G will become available in T-Mobile stores on August 5th.
The myTouch 3G is an adaptation of the recently reviewed HTC Magic and holds closely to the reference design with a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, 3G, GPS and Wi-Fi. T-Mobile's version includes a 4GB microSDHC card for storage. [via TmoNews]
