ASUS notebooks in Italy
Four new notebook PCs from ASUS have appeared in Italy, including the 15.6-inch K50AB and K50IJ, the 17.3-inch K70AB and ultrathin 15.6-inch U50VG, some of which were shown at CeBIT in Germany a few months back. The official release of the notebooks for Italy also revealed some further specs, including the K50AB's AMD Turion 2.3GHz CPU and 4GB of RAM. Graphics are handled by ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 that sports 512MB of dedicated memory, while users work on an LED-backlight, 1366x768 resolution LCD.
The less costly ASUS K50IJ sports a 2GHz Intel Pentium dual-core CPU along with 4GB of RAM, with graphics handled by an integrated X4500HD processor. The LCD is identical to the K50AB, while storage comes via a 250GB, 5400RPM SATA drive.
There are two versions of the 17.3-inch, 1600x900 resolution K70AB, with the K70AB-TY002C utilizing a 2.2GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 CPU while a K70AB-TY001C has a 2.3GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 Ultra processor. Either packs 4GB of RAM as well as an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 good for 512MB.
The Intel Montevina-based U50VG-XX060C uses a 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo paired with 4GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce G 105M with its own 512MB. The 15.6-inch display has a 1366x768 resolution. The PC otherwise has an HDMI output, 250GB hard drive, Wi-Fi and a 1.3-megapixel camera. The notebook's keyboard is also backlit.
Equivalent pricing for the K50AB is $1,100, while the K50IJ costs $874. All prices include tax. The K70AB-TY002C costs about $1,100, the K70AB-TY001C about $1,200. The U50VG-XX060C costs about $1,311. The notebooks should be available shortly in Italy. [via NotebookItalia]
