BlackBerry Storm sequel's specs, retail mockup show

BBerry 9550 Spec and Dummy

RIM's BlackBerry Storm sequel has gained further details with a combination of new hardware details and its presence in the retail system. A slip now titles it the BlackBerry 9550 and confirms many of the technical details to BGR, which involve the same dual-mode CDMA and GSM world roaming support but which adds Wi-Fi to the 3G option on both. A 3.2-megapixel camera, a 480x360 touchscreen and BlackBerry OS 5.0 should all reach the device.

The same source also supports the longstanding rumor of a BlackBerry 9520 that would provide full 3G on AT&T or Rogers networks and otherwise have the same feature set as the 9550. When it would release isn't specific, but it's understood that it may ship "relatively soon."

A separate post from today has helped confirm at least the first part of the rumor and shows a 9550 display mockup in Verizon's system. It also refers to the device as the "Storm 2," though CrackBerry cautions that the phone's naming scheme may not be final.
