HTC Leo smartphone rumors

Leaked specs for HTC's custom Manilla 2.5 platform reveal the company may be getting ready to release a new advanced clamshell smartphone thus far called the Leo. The details revealed to WMPowerUser suggest it will sport two screens, one with an 800x480 internal screen and an external 320x240 resolution screen. Support for OpenGL 2.0 graphics indicates it may be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor, like the one used in the Toshiba TG01.

If the device will be similar to the HTC Omni handset (shown) previously rumored but never released, users can expect Wi-Fi, USB, and Bluetooth connections, as well as a built-in GPS sensor. The Omni was expected to replace the HTC Universal. While the image is a rendition, the device is expected to sport a full QWERTY keyboard. The Omni's expected Windows Mobile 6.0 OS is certain to be replaced by newer software, such as Google's Android or Windows Mobile 6.5.

Pricing and release dates for the HTC Leo are not yet known.
