Palm Pre a Bell exclusive in Canada for six months?

updated 04:20 pm EDT, Fri July 24, 2009

Pre exclusive at Bell

An unofficial company document claims Canadian wireless provider Bell will be the exclusive provider of the Palm Pre handset in Canada for six months. Bell is also said to be the second provider anywhere to offer the handset, after Sprint added the Pre in June. While it's not clear when the six-month countdown begins, it is likely that Bell subsidiary Telus will be the second Canadian provider to get the device.

Bell's alleged agreement with Palm may be an indication of how long Sprint will have exclusive rights for the handset in the US, which is backed up by a recent rumor of the Pre arriving at provider Verizon in January, or just over six months after the June Sprint release.

An exact release date for the Pre at Bell or its pricing are unknown, but it is expected to be released sometime in August. [via MobileSyrup]
