HP 11 6 inch netbook Rumor

HP's netbook line should get a larger 11.6-inch model if a source today proves true. Computer industry contacts for DigiTimes say Quanta is about to mass-produce such a system next month. Other details aren't published, but the larger size likely means a 1366x768 screen resolution instead of the more common 1024x600. One of HP's 10-inch netbooks should also get a revision and is purportedly slated by its manufacturer, Inventec, to be mass-produced in September.

Quanta is also being tapped for regular notebooks and should produce updated 15.6- and 17.3-inch models in August. These also given no real details but may be revisions of the Pavilion dv5 and dv7.

Only a handful of companies have opted for 11.6-inch netbooks and so far mostly include the Gateway's LT3100 as well as the ASUS' Eee PC 1101HA. Some systems may be more likely to use the faster but more expensive CULV platform given the proximity to regular notebooks.
