T-Mobile adds App Pack

Wireless provider T-Mobile has given owners of its Android phones a promised App Pack and Visual Voicemail both on the phone and through downloadable apps on its website. The App Pack finds apps that are recommended or featured on Android Marketplace from the carrier, giving G1 and myTouch 3G users a pre-picked set of apps known to work well. These include the Sherpa GPS-based social networking app launched with the myTouch as well as T-Mobile-specific tools and favorite apps like Flixster.

While at it, T-Mobile has added Visual Voicemail to the feature set of the two Android-powered handsets. Much like the iPhone or Verizon systems, it converts messages to data and lets owners check these out of order.

As with the other official T-Mobile Android applications, such as Mobile Backup and Hotspot connect, users can send an e-mail to themselves via the website, then click on the download link from their Android-powered handset in order to download the new App Pack to their handsets.
