iBuyPower Chimera Killer

iBuyPower wound down its afternoon with a new Chimera Killer Special Edition PC. The new model is tailored just to the hardcore gaming market with a Killer Xeno Pro standard in every model to hopefully lower latency by reducing the overhead of Ethernet traffic. Every system also has a special flame art case with an illuminated side window and a small display to show the heat levels inside the case.

The Chimera Killer comes in either AMD- or Intel-based versions. The AMD version uses a 3.2GHz Phenom II X4 Black Edition friendly to overclocking, 8GB of DDR3 memory, twin ATI Radeon HD 4770 graphics cards in CrossFire mode and a 750GB hard drive for $1,499. Choosing the Intel system lifts the price to $1,899 but consequently provides for a faster 2.66GHz Core i7, 6GB of RAM, support for both CrossFire and NVIDIA's SLI on the same mainboard as well as two GeForce GTX 275 video cards to match.

Any systems custom configured today should ship in mid-August.
