iRiver E200 now official

After a long delay, the sequel to the E100 portable media player has finally been made official. As previously rumored, the E200 now sports a metal body rather than a plastic one, with a slightly curved body at the rear for a more comfortable fit in a user's hand. The 2.8-inch LED display has a 320x240 resolution and will be available in 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities, with all also adding a microSD memory card slot.

There is support for FLAC, OGG, ASF, WMA, and MP3 audio filers, as well as RMVB, MPEG4, Xvid, WMV and RM videos. Photos in JPEG, BMP, PNG and GIF formats can also be played back. There is also an FM tuner and a 1W speaker system to listen to any audio without needing headphones.

Despite the appearance, iRiver has not yet revealed pricing or release dates. Many though not all of its media players reach the US. [via PMPToday]
